Greyhound is a fraction of its size during the heyday of intercity bus travel, but the running dog logo remains an icon on America’s roads. The company rubbed labor relations raw when it tried to replace experienced drivers with employees from a discount subsidiary. Members of Amalgamated Transit Union Local 1700 won the ensuing war of words with picket signs alerting the public that, “It isn’t a Greyhound without a Greyhound driver.”
